Small businesses based in tourism and hospitality are being offered grants by Visit Wales who have opened another round of funding under the Weather-Proofing scheme.
Restaurants, hotels, pubs, bars, and cafes are all encouraged to apply for the grant so they can remain an attractive destination and provide a warm welcome to customers during unpredictable weather conditions.
This way, these businesses are less likely to face a decrease in custom through the coming seasons.
Visit Wales is offering between £5,000-£20,000 in this scheme to support the installation of weather-proof facilities such as sheltered outdoor areas, dining pods, drainage and other provisions that facilitate fine dining experiences whatever the weather.
The grant supports either up to 75% of the cost of these measures or up to £20,000 if this is less than 75% of the total cost. Projects are required to be paid for, completed, and claimed by 13th March 2026.
Small hospitality business owners can check their eligibility and apply for this grant here. This is phase two of the grant scheme, those who received funding in phase one are ineligible for this round.
Applications for this round must be completed by 1pm on the 27th of October.
