Velindre appoints new Executive Director of Workforce and Organisational Development

Velindre University NHS Trust has appointed Dr Sarah Green as its new Executive Director of Workforce and Organisational Development.

Green will join Velindre from NHS Somerset Integrated Care Board, where she is a director and recently served as Chief People Officer. She brings experience across workforce, organisational development, education, culture and clinical leadership, including leading complex transformation programmes and developing inclusive workplace cultures.

She began her NHS career as a nurse before qualifying as a midwife and has since held leadership roles across clinical, operational and workforce services. Her experience also includes work with NHS providers, integrated care systems, local government, higher education, adult social care and the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector.

Green is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and holds an MSc in Policy Studies and a doctorate exploring social theory, learning and organisations.

She will join Velindre’s Executive Team at a time of significant organisational change across Velindre Cancer Service and the Welsh Blood Service. The Trust also hosts NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership, Health Technology Wales and Advanced Therapies Wales.

Green will take up the role later this year.
