A skincare entrepreneur who studied at the University of Wales has secured a £50,000 investment offer on the latest episode of the BBC’s hit business programme Dragons’ Den.

Rachel Williams impressed investor Touker Suleyman during Thursday night’s episode (12 March), earning an offer of £50,000 for a 30% stake in her specialist skincare brand Albus & Flora.

The physiologist and entrepreneur pitched the science-led brand to the panel, explaining how the business focuses exclusively on lip care and the delicate skin around the mouth, an area she believes has often been overlooked within the wider skincare industry.

Williams said: “It’s incredibly exposing standing there on your own. Every number is challenged and every decision you’ve made over the years is put under a microscope.

“I’ve built Albus & Flora step by step, so it was intense, but I was ready for those questions.

“Securing an offer felt significant. This brand has been years in the making, shaped by my scientific background and professional experience. To walk away with an offer was a defining moment.”

Williams founded Albus & Flora in 2017 after stepping away from a career in academia and elite sport to pursue science-led entrepreneurship.

Since launching, the Lancashire-based business has grown into an established UK skincare brand stocked in aesthetic clinics and professional settings across the country.
