Swansea Bay Business Club has announced a change in leadership and confirmed its chosen charity for 2026 as it continues its long-running role supporting business growth and community engagement across South Wales.

The networking organisation, established in 1949, has appointed Jonathan Richards, relationship director at Lloyds Bank, as president for 2026–27, with Mandi Gwynne, multi-property director of sales at Delta Hotels by Marriott Swansea and Cardiff Marriott, taking on the role of deputy president.

Richards succeeds Amy Seppman, marketing director at JCP Solicitors, who steps down after completing her term as president.

Richards has been a board member since 2017 and works with high-value SME clients across South Wales.

Richards said: “I’m delighted to take on the role of President of the Club, following an incredibly successful few years under Amy’s leadership. As we step into 2026, our focus is on further strengthening membership and delivering well-attended events featuring esteemed guest speakers who bring insight and inspiration to our business community.”

Gwynne brings more than 30 years’ experience in hospitality sales and leadership and will support the club’s programme of events and partnerships across the Swansea Bay region.

The club has also named the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award as its chosen charity for 2026.

Richards said: “Amy’s shoes will be difficult to fill, with an incredible £54,640 raised on behalf of Faith in Families, but I look forward to working with the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and expanding our offering to further support the next generation of businesspeople across our region under my tenure.”

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, which marks its 70th anniversary this year, supports young people aged 14 to 24 to develop skills through volunteering and personal development activities.

Two new board members have also been appointed. Michael Jones, partner at Bevan Buckland, becomes treasurer, while Kate Clarke, partner at David W Harris & Co Solicitors in Swansea, joins the board following her work with the club’s marketing group.

They join an existing board that includes representatives from JCP Solicitors, reTHINK PR & Marketing, NETBOP, Thomas Carroll Brokers, Miles Hire, Swansea University, Gavin Griffiths Group, the CBI in Wales, and Print Inc and Tarw Sports.
