Sustainable business units are now available to lease at two new commercial developments in Carmarthenshire, supported by £15m in joint funding from the Welsh Government and Carmarthenshire County Council.
Parc Gelli Werdd, located at the Cross Hands East Strategic Employment Site, comprises 26 modern workshops and office units designed to high environmental standards.
The development is currently around 70% let, with interest continuing in the remaining units, indicating strong demand for low-carbon commercial space.
The scheme incorporates energy-efficient features including high-performance insulation, solar panels and an electricity management system that allows tenants to monitor and control consumption, helping to reduce running costs while lowering environmental impact.
A second development is under way at Beechwood Industrial Estate in Llandeilo, where five energy-efficient industrial units are being constructed.
The scheme is due for completion in June and is being designed to achieve a net zero carbon in-operation target. Electric vehicle charging points will also be provided on site.
The projects form part of wider efforts to increase the supply of modern, sustainable business accommodation across Wales.
Rebecca Evans, Cabinet Secretary for Economy, Energy and Planning, said: “Businesses tell us how access to modern business spaces is crucial to helping them expand and grow.
“The Welsh Government is working hard to increase the availability of commercial premises for businesses in every part of Wales.
“Both of these developments in Carmarthenshire deliver to exceptional environmental standards and will reduce operational costs for occupying businesses whilst minimising environmental impact.”
Cllr Hazel Evans, Carmarthenshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Leisure, Culture and Tourism, said: “Through collaborative working with Welsh Government, these energy efficient commercial units will provide fantastic, flexible spaces for businesses in Carmarthenshire to thrive.”
