A south-Wales based foundry is marking a decade since its apprenticeship programme was established.
Wall Colmonoy first launched their Bespoke Apprenticeship Programme in 2015 and have since developed and sustained many careers within engineering and manufacturing.
The programme was launched at the firm’s headquarters in Pontardawe, Swansea, and was designed to build skill sets that supported roles within the company’s operations.
Overtime, the programme collaborated with establishments and became a structured pathway delivered across different stages of education, such as Swansea University and Neath College.
The apprenticeship programme supports the local development of expertise that provides sustained careers as half of Wall Colmonoy’s 200 employees in Wales have served there for over 10 years.
The foundry, established in 1938, has been investing significantly in advanced technologies, and the apprenticeship programme builds and maintains capabilities around laboratory facilities and digital process controls.
