A Cardiff-headquartered language services group has secured its future following a six-figure management buyout.
Rhys Thomas has acquired shares in Burmanovak Limited, the parent company of Business Language Services Limited in Cardiff and Telford-based Dixon Language Services Limited, in a deal advised by Peter Lynn and Partners Solicitors.
The group provides translation, interpreting and language support services to organisations across the UK and internationally, with a focus on quality assurance, compliance and linguist-led delivery.
The two businesses have particular expertise in technical, medical and legal content, supporting clients operating in both regulated and commercial environments.
The transaction was led by company and commercial specialists James Lewis-Hyndman and Rob Cherry and was completed within two and a half months from instruction.
James Lewis-Hyndman said: “This was a fast-moving management buyout with a clear focus on continuity. The priority was to ensure the business, its clients and its people were fully protected throughout the process.”
Thomas, who has been closely involved in the day-to-day running of the business, said the deal represents a natural progression and provides a platform for future growth.
He said: “Having been closely involved in the business, this was a natural next step. It was important that we maintained stability for our clients and team while creating a platform for future growth.”
A key aspect of the deal was maintaining continuity across both trading companies, particularly given the importance of accuracy and reliability in sectors such as technical, medical and legal services.
All employees have been retained as part of the share purchase, safeguarding jobs and ensuring operational continuity.
The transaction also included funding arrangements to support the acquisition, with legal teams working to complete the financial and security elements within the tight timeframe.
Rhys added: “The support throughout the process was invaluable. Completing a transaction of this scale so quickly meant we could stay focused on delivering for our clients without disruption.”
