Raj Kitchen celebrates double award win

A Swansea restaurant has secured two major industry accolades, strengthening its position in the Welsh dining scene less than two years after opening.

Raj Kitchen has been named Fine Dining Restaurant of the Year at the Asian Food & Restaurant Awards 2025 and Asian Restaurant of the Year at the Welsh Restaurant Awards 2026.

The double win marks a significant milestone for the business, which launched in December 2023 and has quickly built a reputation for its approach to authentic Indian cuisine and elevated dining experience.

Owner Raj Chowdhury said: “To win both Fine Dining of the Year and Asian Restaurant of the Year is something I’m incredibly proud of.

“We’re just focused on doing what we love every day, cooking from the heart and trying to give people an authentic dining experience, and I’m humbled by the recognition we’re getting.”

Located on the site of a former Pizza Express and overlooking Swansea Castle, the restaurant has capacity for around 130 covers across two floors, combining a contemporary setting with traditional influences.

Chowdhury said: “It means so much to see people enjoy the food and the atmosphere we’ve created.

“When guests come back and tell us how much they’ve loved it, that’s what really matters.

“The awards are amazing, but it’s the people who support us that make it all worthwhile.”
