Powys-based drinks producer Radnor Hills has taken its community support into the workplace and wider region, helping to raise awareness while also supporting Prostate Cymru’s 2026 Walk of Wales campaign.
The company hosted two PSA testing days at its Powys base, with one aimed at employees and a second opened to men from the wider community.
The events form part of Prostate Cymru’s regional roadshow, which is visiting locations across Wales to improve access to subsidised prostate-specific antigen (PSA) testing and encourage earlier detection.
Radnor Hills has also supported the charity’s 1,000-mile Walk of Wales, providing refreshments when its team met walkers completing a 14.9-mile section between Kington and Hay.
The 2026 walk, which ran from June 27 to August 9, aims to raise £300,000 to fund six specialist cancer nurses.
More than 2,500 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer in Wales each year, highlighting the importance of early detection.
The partnership reflects Radnor Hills’ wider involvement in community initiatives across Wales, while Prostate Cymru continues to take prostate health testing into workplaces and other community settings.
Chris Butler, Marketing Manager of Radnor Hills, said: “We’re proud sponsors of Prostate Cymru, and very aware that our locality has lower rates of PSA testing and this can lead to delayed diagnosis and treatment.
“We have worked with the charity for a number of years providing them with free water at their events to keep them hydrated, offering raffle prizes for their roadshows and completing big walks to raise funds for them.
“As well as hosting a screening day for the public at our Knighton headquarters, where over 220 men had their PSA tested, the charity also tested 60 of our own colleagues. We were also delighted to support them with some refreshing Radnor Hills drinks while on their fundraising walk.”
Tina Tew, Chief Executive of Prostate Cymru, said: “Early diagnosis is the cornerstone of our mission. In Wales, the impact of prostate cancer is significant, affecting 1 in 8 men, and 1 in 3 with a family history.
“By entering our second year of this dedicated testing tour, we are establishing a consistent presence in the community. We want to normalise the conversation around prostate health and make it as easy as possible for the males of Wales to understand their risk.”
