After five years at the helm of Welsh full fibre broadband provider Ogi, co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Ben Allwright has announced his decision to step down, handing over leadership to colleague and co-founder Sally-Anne Skinner.
Skinner, who currently serves as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), will take on the role of CEO as the company enters its next phase of growth.
Allwright has been central to Ogi’s rise as a leading vertically integrated telecommunications operator in south Wales, building the company into an award-winning player in the UK Altnet community. Under his leadership, Ogi has delivered new fibre infrastructure and services that have supported businesses, communities, and local economies.
Reflecting on his time at the company, Allwright said: “I am immensely proud of what we have achieved at Ogi and would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to the entire Ogi community – including employees, partners, investors, and customers. Looking ahead, I envision a bright future for Ogi, with continued innovation, operational excellence and customer experience at the forefront.
“I leave Ogi in capable hands and well-positioned to adapt to the ever-evolving telecommunications landscape and to seize new opportunities that will arise. As for my own future, I am excited to explore new challenges and contribute to the industry in different ways, while staying firmly embedded in the vibrant community that defines the sector.”
Skinner has been with Ogi since 2020 and has been instrumental in shaping the business’s commercial strategy. During her tenure as CRO, she designed and delivered Ogi’s go-to-market approach, launched digital e-commerce and self-serve platforms, and took on additional responsibilities as Chief Marketing Officer, integrating brand, communications and customer acquisition.
She said: “Having spent the last five years helping to shape and drive Ogi’s success as CRO, I am excited and energised to step into my new role. I look forward to leading the next phase of our journey, with a clear focus on accelerating growth and delivering strong financial performance, whilst keeping customer centricity at the heart of our strategy.”
Ogi said it thanked Allwright for his leadership and commitment over the past five years, and wished him well as he takes on new challenges.
