Mackenzie Jones Solicitors, a leading law firm with offices in Chester, St Asaph and Menai Bridge, is marking its 25th anniversary with a wave of growth, welcoming new talent and experiencing a sharp rise in client demand across multiple sectors.
As part of its recruitment drive, the firm has appointed Elen Roberts, a highly experienced Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury (PI) solicitor, to bolster its specialist legal team.
Originally from Anglesey and now living in Rowton, Elen brings over 20 years of legal experience to the firm, having worked with prominent law practices across Cheshire, Manchester, and the Wirral. Her impressive career includes recent work on The Thirlwall Inquiry, which examined events at the Countess of Chester Hospital following the convictions of former neonatal nurse Lucy Letby.
Her dedication to catastrophic injury law stems from personal experience.
“My sister had a horrific car accident when I was completing my legal studies. I moved home to help her rehabilitate, and that had a big effect on the direction of my career,” said Elen.
Elen was also part of the legal team awarded Outstanding Case of the Year at the 2024 Personal Injury Awards for Hadley v Przybylo, a landmark case that provided clarity in catastrophic injury claims.
“It’s an exciting time to join Mackenzie Jones as the firm celebrates 25 years. This is a practice known for its excellence in handling complex, sensitive clinical negligence cases, it’s a perfect fit for me,” she added.
The firm, which now employs over 30 staff, holds key accreditations including Lexcel, CQS, SIA, and recognition in the Legal 500. Its 25th year is shaping up to be its busiest yet, with notable growth in clinical negligence, commercial contracts, and private client services.
Anna Mills Morgan, Director at Mackenzie Jones, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Elen. Her technical skill and compassionate approach make her a fantastic addition to our team. Her appointment is part of our continued investment in specialist talent to meet growing demand.”
Richard Jones, Fellow Director, added: “As we mark a quarter-century of legal excellence, it’s incredibly rewarding to see our client base expand and new instructions increase. This growth reflects the trust we’ve earned over the years, and we’re excited to build on that foundation into the future.”
The firm’s success is also rooted in community engagement. Elen recently joined colleagues Laura Corrigan, Andrew Foley Jones, Anna Mills Morgan and Sara Parry in running 100km in June for Sport Relief, underscoring the team’s dedication both in and out of the courtroom.
With momentum building across North Wales and the North West, Mackenzie Jones is poised to continue its evolution as one of the region’s most dynamic and client-focused law firms.
