One of Cardiff’s most iconic heritage buildings has been given a new lease of life as iungoworks, a state-of-the-art coworking space designed to serve the city’s growing community of professionals, startups, and creatives.

Located in the Grade II-listed West Bute House on West Bute Street, the new facility blends architectural history with modern innovation, offering flexible workspace solutions in the heart of Cardiff Bay’s Mount Stuart conservation area.

The project is the vision of Jessica Leigh Jones and Tom de Vall, founders of iungo Solutions, a digital and green skills learning provider. They acquired the 18th-century former coal shipping office last year and have since transformed it into a contemporary coworking hub complete with open-plan desks, serviced office suites, and meeting rooms.

“After years of home working, many people are now looking for a space that offers structure and separation without the commute,” said Jessica.

“We designed iungoworks to be more than just a place to work, it’s a space where collaboration, creativity and community can thrive.”

What sets iungoworks apart, the co-founders say, is its flexibility. The space remains open late into the evening to accommodate non-traditional work hours, particularly for creatives. The company has also seen strong interest in virtual memberships, which include a registered business address, mail forwarding, and discounted day passes.

“Coworking is about more than shared desks, it’s about shared energy, ideas and ambition,” said Tom.

“We’re building a community where people inspire one another and turn bold ideas into real impact. Honouring the industrial legacy of the building, we’ve created a contemporary approach to business that’s still grounded in Cardiff’s rich commercial heritage.”

iungoworks adds to Cardiff’s evolving innovation ecosystem, supporting remote workers, SMEs, start-ups, and satellite teams of larger firms. The space is positioned as a vital addition to the capital’s growing demand for hybrid, high-quality work environments.
