Wales’ business events sector has received a major boost as ICC Wales and key venues from The Celtic Collection have been named finalists in the prestigious miaList 2025 awards.
The annual awards, now in their 14th year and organised by the Meetings Industry Association (MIA), celebrate excellence across the UK’s meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) industry. This year’s shortlist sees ICC Wales achieve double recognition, while two other Celtic Collection venues have also secured nominations.
ICC Wales has been shortlisted in two major categories, Venue of the Year (over 300 delegates) and Event and Operations Team of the Year, a testament to its growing national profile and consistent delivery of large-scale events.
Celtic Manor Resort, the flagship of The Celtic Collection, joins ICC Wales in the Venue of the Year (over 300 delegates) category. Meanwhile, The Parkgate Hotel in Cardiff has been named a finalist in the Venue of the Year (under 300 delegates) category, adding to the group’s strong overall showing.
Julie Hammond, Group Chief Executive Officer of The Celtic Collection and ICC Wales, praised the recognition and the teams behind it.
“It’s fantastic to see ICC Wales and two of our hotels recognised by the miaList,” she said. “These shortlistings are a credit to the dedication, professionalism and passion of our teams, who consistently go the extra mile to deliver exceptional experiences for our clients and delegates.”
Hammond added that the nominations highlight Wales’ rising profile on the UK’s events stage.
“This recognition reinforces Wales’s growing reputation as a world-class destination for business events as they follow hot on the heels of our three nominations for the Meetings & Incentive Travel Awards,” she said.
The miaList awards are widely respected in the events industry for celebrating those who have made outstanding contributions to the sector. Categories span individuals, teams and venues, recognising innovation, service quality and impact.
Winners of the miaList 2025 will be announced at a ceremony on 6th November at The Belfry Hotel & Resort.
With ICC Wales and The Celtic Collection continuing to attract national acclaim, the latest shortlistings offer further evidence of Wales’ emergence as a competitive force in the UK’s business events market.
