Top 100 UK law firm Hugh James has unveiled details of its 2025 Housing Week, which will take place from 10–14 November, bringing together housing leaders, associations, and industry experts to explore the key challenges and opportunities defining the future of the housing sector.
Now in its seventh year, the annual event will provide housing associations and sector stakeholders with practical legal and strategic insights to help navigate an increasingly complex landscape, from shifting regulation and political change to new economic realities and sustainability goals.
Drawing on Hugh James’ extensive expertise across employment, governance, housing regulation, asset management, and commercial strategy, this year’s Housing Week will offer what the firm describes as a “holistic and future-focused” approach to sector support.
Rather than simply delivering legal updates, Housing Week 2025 will explore the interconnected issues facing housing providers, aiming to help leaders build resilient organisations and communities for the years ahead.
The week will combine in-person and virtual events under the theme of preparing the housing sector for the future.
Highlights include the flagship Savills Research launch at Hugh James’ Cardiff headquarters, where new market data and trend analysis will be unveiled, followed by commentary from leading political, economic, and industry figures.
Participants will also have access to a series of interactive workshops and expert-led webinars, covering topics such as employment law, tenant management, building safety, and commercial strategy.
The flexible format aims to ensure delegates can engage with sector-wide challenges in a way that suits their schedules and priorities.
Caroline O’Flaherty, Partner and Head of Social Housing at Hugh James, said: “Housing associations sit at the heart of our communities, and the challenges they face are growing in complexity, so ensuring an understanding of the full range of factors influencing their future benefits everyone.
“Hugh James’ Housing Week is our way of sharing legal expertise and industry knowledge that clients need to anticipate change, respond effectively, and build stronger futures for the people they serve.”
With more than 40 years of dedicated practice in the social housing sector, Hugh James has built a strong reputation as a trusted legal partner for housing associations and local authorities across England and Wales.
The firm’s social housing team provides end-to-end support across all areas of housing delivery and management, from procurement, finance, and governance to employment, asset management, development, and home ownership.
