North Wales’ tourism and hospitality stars are set to shine once again as the Go North Wales Tourism Awards 2025 return for their ninth year this November, promising an evening of celebration, connection and well-deserved recognition.

Organised by North Wales Tourism and hosted at the iconic Venue Cymru in Llandudno, the black-tie event will showcase the very best of the region’s thriving visitor economy, from small independent cafés to large-scale attractions and luxury hotels.

“This is our ninth year running the Go North Wales Tourism Awards,” said Jim Jones, Chief Executive of North Wales Tourism.

“We’ve been fortunate to retain so many loyal sponsors who help us deliver the event and that’s vital at a time when budgets are tight and running something of this scale takes real effort. The support we’ve had is incredible.”

This year’s event will feature 19 award categories, including some long-time favourites: Attraction of the Year, Hotel of the Year and Young Person of the Year, alongside new additions such as the Café and Bistro Award, which has already attracted nearly 30 entries and is proudly sponsored by Businessin Wales.

“That one’s proved hugely popular,” Jones said. “We had so many great applications that at least half could have made the shortlist. Choosing the finalists has been a real challenge.”

While the evening is all about celebration, Jones is open about the challenges the sector continues to face. “Tourism is under a huge amount of stress right now,” he said.

“Businesses are struggling just to stay afloat, and that is an achievement. But tourism is the economic driver of North Wales, it supports communities, jobs, and investment. These awards are our chance to come together and celebrate that resilience.”

The Go North Wales Tourism Awards are renowned for their energy and sense of community. “It’s a formal black-tie evening, but it’s also a chance for people to let their hair down,” Jones said. “There’ll be great entertainment, beautiful food and drink, and the best company. It’s an opportunity to network, share best practice, and celebrate everything that’s good about North Wales tourism.”

The Young Person of the Year category, Jones added, is always a highlight. “We’ve had some phenomenal entries, young people who are already making a difference in the industry, whether they’re developing their own businesses or excelling in their roles. It’s inspiring to see that level of talent and passion coming through.”

The evening will conclude with the Outstanding Contribution to Tourism Award, recognising an individual who has made a lasting impact on the region’s visitor economy, “one of the most special moments of the night,” according to Jones.

Hosted by television personality Sian Lloyd, the 2025 ceremony promises an unforgettable evening of celebration and entertainment. “We’re expecting a full house,” Jones said. “The tickets are selling fast, and we’ll soon be announcing the finalists. We start planning for the next year as soon as this one ends, but it’s all worth it to see the pride and joy on the night.”

The Go North Wales Tourism Awards 2025 will take place on Thursday, 20 November, at Venue Cymru, Llandudno.

Jones added: “It’s one of the best nights of the year for North Wales tourism and this year’s going to be something really special.”
