Glamorgan County Cricket Club has appointed Michelle Leavesley as a Non-Executive Director, adding experience in sustainability, governance and sport to its board.
Leavesley currently serves as Group Chief Sustainability Officer at Admiral Group PLC, the only FTSE 100 company headquartered in Wales.
In her role, she leads a global team focused on long-term resilience, responsible business practices and community impact.
Alongside her corporate career, Leavesley brings experience in sports governance, having previously held senior board roles at Warwickshire County Cricket Club, where she served as Senior Independent Director and later Honorary Vice President.
During her tenure, she was among the first women appointed as an independent director in first-class county cricket and supported the growth of the women’s game.
Her wider non-executive experience includes roles with British Wheelchair Basketball and the Sport & Play Construction Association.
Reflecting on her appointment, Michelle said: “Returning to cricket feels like coming home.
“The game has an extraordinary ability to bring people together, and Glamorgan sits right at the heart of that – not just in Welsh sport, but in how Wales is seen and celebrated beyond its borders.
“This is more than a cricket club; it is a national institution with a responsibility to inspire pride, opportunity, and inclusion.
“To join a club with such a strong sense of identity, heritage and ambition for the future feels incredibly special.”
Chief executive Dan Cherry said: “Michelle brings a rare combination of strategic insight, community focus and deep understanding of the sporting landscape.
“Her leadership will be invaluable as we continue strengthening Glamorgan’s role in Welsh cricket and Welsh life. We are thrilled to have her join the Board.”
