Global biotechnology company Genesis Biosciences has launched a new bio-based cleaner and odour eliminator aimed at the professional cleaning sector.

The product, Evogen ONE, has been manufactured in the UK and developed as a single, versatile concentrate designed to replace multiple conventional cleaning chemicals across a range of environments.

These include washrooms and sanitary areas, agricultural settings, industrial facilities, and waste handling sites.

The all-in-one solution is built around a probiotic formulation using bio-based components and specialised Bacillus cultures.

Instead of relying on traditional chemical agents, it combines odour encapsulation with the breakdown of organic matter, using naturally derived ingredients to deliver what the company describes as a more environmentally responsible approach.

Its dual-action technology is designed to neutralise odours instantly while continuing to break down organic material over time.

Plant-based surfactants work to lift dirt from surfaces, while beneficial microbes digest the underlying residues that cause malodours.

According to the company, the microbial activity can remain active for up to 148 days after application, helping to maintain cleanliness and prevent future build-up.

Dr Emma Saunders, General Manager at Genesis Biosciences, said: “One of the biggest challenges facing commercial teams is cleaning regimes.

“Traditional cleaning systems often consist of multiple cleaning products across sites, complex COSHH documentation, higher procurement and training costs, and inconsistent results.

“A move towards consolidating cleaning protocols into a single, more efficient and sustainable approach is required which is why we are delighted to launch Evogen ONE as a practical step forward. It is simply one product, one protocol, one solution.

“This is the clear message we will be presenting to the professional cleaning sector at Interclean Amsterdam this week.

“Cleaning can move beyond conventional chemistry and practices; the future of effective, sustainable hygiene lies in advanced microbial science.

“By introducing next-generation probiotic solutions like Evogen ONE to the market, we aim to help organisations rethink the products they use by reducing chemical complexity, improving cleaning efficiency and minimising environmental impact without compromising performance.

“Our innovative formulation, created with our eco-benign® approach, aligns with the growing demand for lower-toxicity, low-impact cleaning systems across commercial sites.

“The shift from purely chemical masking to biological degradation marks a meaningful change in operations with asset protection becoming a carbon reduction strategy in its own right.”
