Connected insurance provider Flock has expanded into the UK haulage market through a new fleet insurance product developed in partnership with Admiral, Wales’ only FTSE 100 company.

The launch is a strategic step for Flock as it looks to scale its data-driven model beyond its existing footprint in courier, trades, taxi and rental fleets.

It comes after Admiral Group announced in February that it plans to acquire Flock, valuing the firm’s equity at £80m.

The transaction remains subject to regulatory approval and completion is expected during this quarter of 2026.

By entering the haulage sector, one of the UK’s largest and most economically significant transport markets, the company is targeting a segment where demand for improved risk management tools has been growing.

Flock’s model centres on the use of connected data and telematics to help fleet operators better understand driving behaviour and reduce incidents.

The new product combines this approach with Admiral’s underwriting and claims capabilities, creating a proposition aimed at both preventing accidents and managing them more effectively when they occur.

Ed Leon Klinger, CEO of Flock, said: “Flock’s mission is to make the world quantifiably safer; we aim to prevent claims before they even happen.

“We’re using driving data to price risk more accurately, working directly with fleet operators to reduce crashes, and financially rewarding safer fleets with lower premiums.

“This launch, in partnership with Admiral, brings Flock’s unique model into the haulage market with an unparalleled level of claims expertise.

“We look forward to the upcoming completion of Admiral’s acquisition of Flock.”

According to Flock, fleets enrolled in its risk management programme have recorded a 10% reduction in claims frequency.

This translates into fewer vehicles taken off the road and lower associated costs, including repairs, maintenance and claims handling, key pressure points for operators working within tight margins.

Emma Huntington, CEO of Admiral Pioneer, said: “Haulage fleets play a vital role in keeping the UK economy moving, connecting businesses, communities and supply chains every single day, and we see a clear opportunity to help them better understand and manage risk on the road.

“Flock’s model is also built to prevent risk day to day, not just when something goes wrong.

“By combining this with Admiral’s underwriting and claims expertise, we believe we can drive meaningful change across the sector.”
