FinTech Wales has reached 200 members following continued growth across Wales’ financial technology sector as both domestic and international firms expand their presence in the country.

The achievement comes alongside the organisation’s 2024/25 annual report, which points to sustained investment resilience, job creation and ongoing innovation within the Welsh fintech ecosystem.

The latest intake of members includes firms such as Oxyile, Valart, Bipsync, Alerte, Amino, CalonAI, OpenMoove and InnovAItive Solutions.

These businesses span a range of specialisms including artificial intelligence, data, payments and research technology, reflecting the increasing diversity of the sector in Wales and the emergence of a new generation of start-ups and scaling firms.

The membership milestone also highlights Wales’ growing appeal to international investors. Companies such as Lideflow, The Cloud Factory and Sibli have established or expanded operations in Wales, citing access to talent and a collaborative ecosystem as key drivers.

At the same time, UK-based firms including My Time Pension, DataWollet, Planna and GenAirate are scaling up in South Wales, further reinforcing the region’s position as a competitive fintech hub.

Founded in 2019, FinTech Wales was established to connect and support the sector, helping businesses to start, scale and collaborate. It now represents hundreds of organisations across Wales and beyond.

Among the newest members is Bipsync, an AI-powered investment workspace provider with roots in both New York and Wales, and links to Stanford University.

Craig Marvelley, CTO of Bipsync, said: “We’re delighted to join FinTech Wales at such an exciting time for the sector. Cardiff and Wales have been a key part of our journey, and remain an important part of our story as well as a source of exceptional talent.

“Being part of this vibrant community will help us strengthen our Welsh roots while connecting with like-minded innovators who are pushing the boundaries of financial technology.”

Sarah Jones, Chief Executive of FinTech Wales, said: “Reaching 200 members is a significant milestone and a testament to the strength and ambition of Wales’ fintech ecosystem.

“What’s particularly encouraging is the breadth of that growth – from homegrown Welsh start-ups to international businesses choosing Wales as their base to scale.

“The momentum will continue later this year as we announce the first Welsh Fintech Festival, taking place on 3rd June at the Swansea Building Society Arena.

“This landmark event will bring together industry leaders, innovators, collaborators and investors to showcase Welsh fintech on a national and international stage, further cementing Wales’ reputation as a dynamic and fast-growing fintech destination.

“The announcement of our first Welsh Fintech Festival marks another major step forward for the sector. It will be a powerful platform to showcase the innovation, talent and global potential of the Welsh fintech community.”
