Darwin Gray expands legal team with key appointments and senior promotions

Welsh commercial law firm Darwin Gray has announced a wave of new hires and internal promotions as part of its ongoing growth strategy. The latest developments reflect the firm’s continued expansion across Wales and its commitment to investing in both emerging and established legal talent.
The firm has made four new appointments, bolstering its property, litigation, and corporate teams. Geraint Williams joins as an Associate in the Property team at the Bangor office, while Leanne Nixon takes up an Associate role in the Cardiff office. Lloyd Pike and Georgina Rees have been appointed as Solicitors in the Litigation and Corporate and Commercial teams respectively.
These hires are a key component of Darwin Gray’s broader strategy to strengthen its service offering and regional presence.
Six promotions reflect internal talent development
In addition to the new recruits, the firm has promoted six team members across various departments, underscoring its dedication to internal progression and staff development.
Rachel Ford-Evans and Patrick Murphy have been promoted to Partner, bringing Darwin Gray’s total number of partners to eleven. Ford-Evans, who began her career at the firm as a trainee in 2014, is a core member of the Employment Law team. Murphy, who joined in 2016, specialises in commercial disputes and contentious probate.
Additional promotions include:
- Elin Davies and Emily Shingler to Senior Associate roles in the Property and Corporate & Commercial teams.
- Nicole Brendel promoted to Associate in the Employment team.
- Cindy Thomas, previously an Accounts Assistant, appointed as Senior Accounts Administrator.
