Cardiff-based commercial law firm Darwin Gray has scooped three major honours at this year’s Welsh Law Awards, including the event’s top accolade — Champion 2025.
At the ceremony held on Thursday 9 October at the Hilton in Cardiff, the firm took home gold for Employment Law Services of the Year, silver for Private Client Services, and the prestigious overall title of Welsh Law Awards Champion 2025.
The awards, judged by an independent panel, recognise excellence across the Welsh legal sector and highlight the range of expertise within firms of all sizes operating throughout Wales.
Partners Damian Phillips and Rachel Ford-Evans attended the event alongside their colleagues to accept the awards on behalf of the firm.
Phillips said: “We were thrilled to see Darwin Gray take away not one but three awards on Thursday night. It is a really exciting time at Darwin Gray as we continue to build on our exponential growth as a firm, adding more awards and accolades to our repertoire.”
The triple win follows another significant achievement earlier this month, when Darwin Gray was once again ranked in the Legal 500, one of the industry’s most respected guides.
The firm achieved top-three-tier recognition across its core services and celebrated individual rankings for several solicitors, including the highest number of ranked employment law partners in Wales.
Ford-Evans added: “It’s fantastic to receive such recognition for the firm, both at the Welsh Law Awards and in Legal 500. It is testament to the hard work and dedication of the team at Darwin Gray, as every single one of our team contributes to the firm’s success. We are looking forward to continuing to build on 2025’s successes into the next few years and beyond.”
The awards mark another milestone for Darwin Gray, which has continued to expand its client base and reputation in recent years, reinforcing its position as one of Wales’s leading commercial law firms.
