Cardo Group has announced its acquisition of operations from SERS Energy Solutions Group Limited and SERS Energy Solutions (Scotland) Limited, expanding its footprint and capabilities across England, Wales, and Scotland in the energy efficiency sector.

The move brings one of the UK’s most experienced retrofit and insulation providers into the Cardo portfolio, bolstering the group’s in-house capacity to deliver end-to-end energy efficiency services for clients nationwide.

Founded in 1990, SERS has built a strong reputation over more than three decades for its work with local authorities and housing providers, specialising in external wall insulation and retrofit projects that improve housing standards and reduce carbon emissions.

Mike Roberts, Group CEO of SERS, called the deal a “positive next chapter” for both the company and its clients:

“SERS has always had a mission to rebuild and transform lives through high-quality energy solutions. Cardo Group shares that mission, and we’re confident this transition will unlock new opportunities while continuing the legacy we’ve built over many years.”

The integration marks a major milestone for Cardo Group, which has been steadily expanding its services in the social housing and retrofit sectors.

Liam Bevan, CEO of Cardo Group, said the acquisition would accelerate the group’s ability to serve housing providers across the UK:

“Bringing the SERS team into Cardo Group creates a powerful platform for growth. Over the past year, we’ve seen how collaboration can enhance delivery, and this next step allows us to invest further in our people and capabilities while driving better outcomes for clients.”

The acquisition strengthens Cardo’s position as a key player in the UK’s effort to decarbonise homes and meet net zero targets, at a time when energy efficiency and housing quality are rising priorities for the public and private sectors alike.
