Cardiff Airport has appointed aviation cargo specialist Chris Bosworth as a Non-Executive Director, strengthening its leadership team as it looks to expand its air freight operations.

The former Managing Director of Airport Coordination Ltd brings more than 30 years of experience in the aviation sector, with a career spanning senior roles in airlines, airport operations and logistics.

Bosworth previously held leadership positions at British Airways World Cargo, where he was responsible for commercial development across global freight markets.

His work has included shaping cargo strategy, advancing digital booking systems and supporting major capacity investments.

He has also worked in advisory and consultancy roles across the aviation industry, giving him experience across airlines, airports and air freight operations.

Bosworth is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport.

Bosworth said: “I am delighted to join Cardiff Airport at such an important time in its development.

“The Airport has strong foundations and clear potential to grow its cargo offering significantly.

“I look forward to working with the Board and executive team to help realise this opportunity and deliver long-term value for the region.”

The airport’s growth strategy is being led by Chief Executive Jon Bridge, with a focus on expanding commercial activity, partnerships and route development within the cargo sector.

Jon Bridge said: “Chris’s appointment strengthens our leadership team as we focus on growth and development.

“His extensive cargo expertise and industry insight will be invaluable as we enhance our capabilities and develop Cardiff Airport’s position within the air freight market.”

Board Chair, Wayne Harvey, added: “We are delighted to welcome Chris to our board bringing his extensive knowledge and experience.

“We are at a very exciting stage in the airport’s development and I have no doubt that Chris will play a significant part in our journey.”
