A team from Businessin Wales has raised more than £1,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support after taking part in a darts marathon to support people affected by cancer across the UK.

Held at Dragon Group HQ in Cardiff, the charity event brought together staff and supporters for a full day of darts action all aimed at raising vital funds for Macmillan’s life-changing services.

The team, comprising of Senior Journalist Daniel Bevan and Head of Sales Mark George, kept the arrows flying for more than nine hours, eventually reaching the target of 100,000 points with hours to spare.

The effort paid off, with the event surpassing its £500 target and continuing to attract donations even after the last dart was thrown.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to have raised over £1,000 for Macmillan,” said Mark George. “Cancer impacts so many people’s lives, including those close to us, and we wanted to do something both fun and meaningful to show our support. The darts marathon was a brilliant way to bring people together and make a difference.”

Macmillan Cancer Support provides practical, emotional and financial assistance to people living with cancer and their families. Events like this help fund services such as specialist nurses, support lines and community programmes across Wales and beyond.

The amount raised from the event could pay for a Macmillan Nurse for over 3 days, helping people living with cancer and their families receive essential medical, practical and emotional support.

The team thanked all who donated, participated and cheered them on during the event. Donations to Businessin Wales’ fundraising page for Macmillan are still open for those who wish to contribute to the cause.
