Award-winning dairy consultant joins Agri Academy to inspire next generation

Daniel Bevan - Senior Journalist
Anna Bowen, a highly respected farm business consultant at The Andersons Centre and manager of a 300-cow spring block calving dairy herd in Ceredigion, is bringing her wealth of experience to the Agri Academy 2025 programme.
With a specialism in dairy but a background spanning fresh produce, red meat genetics, and international trade, Anna is well-placed to deliver a dynamic and wide-reaching programme for this year’s applicants. Her diverse career includes roles trading into London markets via Rotterdam-based importers, and work as a beef and sheep geneticist with Signet Breeding Services.
Anna’s passion for the sector is evident in the success of her Joint Venture dairy business, which she has built from the ground up. Her journey has equipped her with valuable insights into overcoming challenges, building business resilience, and embracing innovation—experiences she is now eager to share through a tailored, collaborative learning experience.
“Farming Connect has been a key part of my consultancy career,” says Anna. “I’m excited to now contribute through this programme and support others to thrive.”
Anna’s recent accolades include being named RABDF Dairy Industry Woman of the Year in 2024, and being appointed a trustee of the Nuffield Farming Scholarships Trust in 2023. Her Nuffield scholarship took her to 11 countries, providing exposure to global agricultural systems and strengthening her extensive UK and international network.
“I’m eager to connect people, facilitate the sharing of ideas across different sectors, and explore exciting business opportunities together,” she explains.
Anna is a strong believer in ‘controlling the controllable’, and through the Agri Academy, she plans to equip participants with practical strategies for navigating business challenges and achieving growth. She also plans to introduce industry-leading speakers, helping participants broaden their perspectives and build connections beyond their immediate sector.
Agri Academy 2025 will offer both Senior and Junior programmes (ages 16–21), and applications are open until 20 May, 2025. Successful candidates will benefit from mentoring, training, networking, and international travel opportunities.
